Linda Toney
Linda Toney is the CEO of Toney Construction Services. Linda embarked on her educational journey at Sam Houston State and later transferred to Texas A&M to delve into accounting principles. Her foray into construction was driven by her husband, David, who uncovered his passion while working in property management. In 1994, they took a bold step, establishing Toney Construction Services. At that time, Linda was a devoted stay-at-home mom to three young children. The company was born out of faith and determination, and their relentless commitment has spanned 29 years, solidifying it as a true family legacy.
Linda’s role as the CEO revolves around managing the company’s overall direction,
financial affairs, and nurturing a familial work environment. Her dedication is underlined by her certifications as a Woman-Owned Business (WOBC) through the SBA and as a National Women’s Business Enterprise (WBENC) certified company.
Outside of her professional life, Linda finds joy in family moments, partaking in activities like swimming, boating, and traveling. This dedication to family extends to the core of
Toney, where David’s dream of building a legacy for their children has been realized.
Although David passed away in 2020, his vision lives on, and Linda is immensely proud of how their children have embraced the responsibility of continuing and expanding the family business.
Derek Toney
Derek Toney serves as the President of Toney. He graduated from Texas A&M in 2012, holding a Business degree. Prior to joining Toney Construction Services, Derek successfully owned and operated an Oil Filtration business, specializing in the purification of lubricating fluids for refineries, paper mills, and power generation plants. His pioneering work in this field culminated in Patent Number: 9757738, recognizing his contribution to the development of an innovative Electrostatic Filtration System for Dielectric Fluids.
Derek’s journey into the construction sector was rooted in his commitment to uphold the family legacy. While his involvement with the company dates back to 2003, he transitioned to a full-time role in 2016. Within Toney, Derek’s principal focus is on assembling formidable teams, providing creative solutions, and fostering opportunities for both the company and it's employees.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Derek enjoys family time at the lake, harbors a passion for Formula 1 and AMA Supercross, and shares a deep affection for anything propelled by a motor. Derek is happily married to his wife of 10 years, Ashleigh Toney. Derek and his wife Ashleigh have two young boys, Brett and Caden, who undoubtedly represent the next generation of the family legacy.
Cameron Gafford
Vice President of Toney Construction, Cameron Gafford, brings experience and a passion for building to the team. He earned his degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University in 2012. Before joining Toney, Cameron spent seven years at TDIndustries, where he served as a Project Manager. His extensive background in the construction industry has been instrumental in his role at Toney.
Cameron's journey into construction was deeply influenced by his father's career in the field, fostering a love for hands-on work, tinkering, and building from a young age.
Since joining Toney in 2018, Cameron's primary focus has been on creating opportunities for employees and diversifying the project portfolio to drive growth within the company.
In his spare time, Cameron enjoys traveling the world, hunting, and embarking on family camping adventures. He's a devoted supporter of Aggie football and baseball.
